Dave Erickson’s Statement Regarding the Granting of a Temporary Restraining Order which Prevents the Iowa Utilities Board from Seizing Phone Numbers from a Local Carrier.

The Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) granted by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa illustrates there is good reason to question the Iowa Utilities Board’s (IUB) jurisdiction in this matter. I don’t think the IUB has the jurisdiction to make requests to seize phone numbers from a local carrier. Clearly, if Great Lakes Communication met the high hurdle of a TRO then that tells me the District Court possibly might be leaning the same way. Read More...
